Bill Maher calls Christians mental cases. (Yeah, I know this would be better at Coffee Cup Apologetics.)

This is a way late reply. But I have just discovered this blog and I am digging through the archives, so i don’t know if you’ll even read this.
On a sad note, at least to me regarding Bill Maher, is that as a reformed Christian who is fairly libertarian politically, I think the church could learn a few things from Bill’s satire and observations on his HBO show. I have grown weary of much the blind acceptance of the power of the State many evangelicals have bought into and find that shows like Maher’s and The Daily Show/Colbert Report, actually speak forth much truth about the consequences of such blind adherence with adroit humor. Yes, Maher is conducting his critique of Christianity all wrong, I guess I just don’t want people to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
That’s all for now.
Love the blog and podcast. It made my day when I discovered it.
Cheers and Blessings

We’re delighted that you’ve discovered Choral Treasure, and we invite everybody to come and listen to the sacred music that the Church calls “a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art.”

Conan really really didn’t know what to say, it was rather obvious.
Shame he didn’t ask Maher if Hilary, Obama or Edwards were either schizophrenic or hypocrites and how he could justify endorsing or voting for them in either case.

What is really odd about Maher’s idiocy is that Conan is a practicing Catholic as far as I know. If indeed belief in the Eucharist were that banal it would be ludicris. Only faith and reason working together yield true knowledge, what the Germans call Wissenschaft.
