All of a sudden there are all these new people in the comment threads and sending me emails. And several of them don’t seem to know much about the web site. Do me a favor and run through this list:
1) There’s an information page about me, which has a bio and an FAQ plus more.
2) I don’t answer e-mails requesting personal or pastoral counseling. It’s not that I don’t love you or care about you. I simply don’t have time.
3) Comments are moderated. Extremely long comments, lengthy quotes, pimped links and instances of pure evil are not posted.
4) If you go to the essays/older essays tabs at the top of the page, you’ll get a view of where this site has come from and be able to read some of my older posts. Also go to the iMonk 101 category.
5) If you are advocating that your church contains the only Christians or that I must join your church, I’m not going to post your comments or read your mail.
6) Don’t presume I will link anything you send to me.
7) I do not review books unless I agree to do so prior to receiving the book.

Michael, could you at least post an example of an “instance of pure evil”? Is that like one of those motivational posters with a kitten hanging by its paws? Or is it someone taking their membership in the elect for granted? (I’ll wait in line for counseling; my nickle is ready.)

Michael, I’m wondering if you could please join my church and give me some pastoral counselling? At least then you’d be sure that you were a true Christian.
