Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme
Der Wächter sehr hoch auf der Zinne,
Wach auf, du Stadt Jerusalem!
Mitternacht heißt diese Stunde;
Sie rufen uns mit hellem Munde:
Wo seid ihr klugen Jungfrauen?
Wohl auf, der Bräutgam kömmt;
Steht auf, die Lampen nehmt! Alleluja!
Macht euch bereit
Zu der Hochzeit,
Ihr müsset ihm entgegen gehn!
“Awake!” the voice of the Watchmen high on the ramparts calls to us.
Awake, O city of Jerusalem!
This hour is called Midnight; it calls to us with a lucid voice*: Where are ye wise virgins?
Get up, the Bridegroom is coming; stand up, take your lamps! Alleluia!
Make yourselves ready for the Wedding – you must go out before him!

I ask you to consider Bach’s ‘Sleepers Awake.’.
Again very restful.
It reminds us of the Bridesmaids in the parable.
They sleep awaiting the bride and groom..
As do we awaiting the second coming and the Heavenly Wedding Feast.

it’s been a VERY long week for everyone and there is need to rest for a while
Rev 21:5 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”
and from Tolkien’s ‘Return of the King’,
Sam asks, this:
“Is everything sad going to come untrue?
What’s happened to the world?”
“While we look not at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
(2 Corinthians 4:18)
